Warehouse concept store and café in the Gierstraat

House of Harlem turned a Gierstraat building locals had walked past for years into a warehouse-sized room, rare for a street of small frontages. Inside, it works as a concept store and café at once: homeware, fashion and accessories arranged around the coffee bar instead of walled off from it.

The buying leans on labels with a story, including Barong Barong, and the mix changes often enough that regulars treat it as somewhere to browse rather than somewhere to shop for one thing. It sits at the top of the Gierstraat, among the independent shops locals call the golden streets.
