Finally, a bookshop in English

Haarlem's expat community used to order everything from abroad. Catnap Books changed that: shelves mix new releases with secondhand fiction, plus RPGs, stationery and gifts. It's five minutes from the train station on the Kruisweg.

The secondhand section keeps moving through trade-ins and donations, restocked alongside new arrivals. It's been the city's only English-language bookshop since June 2024.

Such a great book shop! The staff are always so friendly and helpful, and they have an amazing TTRPG section with OSR titles and fun stuff you don't see everywhere.

Lovely place to buy books, they have a great selection! People that work here are also super friendly and helpful, must visit if you’re in Haarlem and you like books!

I loved visiting Catnap Books! Excellent, friendly service in a bookshop full of lovely reads and thoughtful book/gaming related gifts. Catnap Books were able to source a book for me and have it ready to pick up as I travelled through Haarlem. Absolutely worth a visit!

Probably my favorite stop in the city! Very big selection of books, both for adults and kids! I limited myself to one book since I was traveling, but I could have taken many more :) The vibe inside is so cozy, and the owner was fabulous!
