Birria tacos to start. Then something big off the charcoal grill: picanha, rib-eye or a whole fish. Morena travels the whole continent rather than one country, so ceviche from Peru shares the table with Argentine beef and Colombian flavours.

Darryl Peijnenborgh and Faruk Dervis built The Iron Lady and The Fat Fox before this. The name is a nod to Latin American women, and the bar backs it up with a long list of tequila and mezcal. Open since 1 October 2025.

I’ve noticed that a lot of places in the Netherlands focus on presentation, but the flavor doesn’t always live up to the look. Thankfully, Morena breaks that pattern. The dishes might not be strictly authentic, but they more than make up for it with bold, satisfying flavors. It honestly feels like the people in the kitchen are just as tired of bland food as the rest of us..and decided to do something about it. Really enjoyable experience overall, and definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.

When the food is so good you forget to take pictures, you know you're at the right place. For me, this is the first restaurant I have been to in NL that serves incredible Mexican food, bursting with flavor. I would go again, and again, again. Thanks for a great evening! 🤗

We were a bit hesitant reading the reviews but we had a really nice dinner! Shout out to our server, it was his first day (Greek server, Im sorry we didnt catch your name!) and delivered amazingly. Food was really good, tasty, balanced and portions were adequate. We came in a group and ordered Ceviche, Calamari and Birria Tacos as starters. Very balanced Ceviche, Birria came with the broth on the side as it should. For mains we tried the Pollo Naranja, Costillas and Pescado Zarandeado. All of them quite tasty, balanced, good portions and well seasoned. Only comment maybe that the chicken could have used a bit more of sauce or juiciness,but taste was there! The sides were Corn Sticks, Zanahorias (Carrots) and the Arroz Nuestro (Rice), all of them quite good, the absolute winners were the Carrots, very original for a side and the glaze was simply delicious. Don’t leave without trying the Tres Leches! Not too sweet, perfect flavor and texture. Cocktails are also very varied and properly made.

Absolutely amazing ! Bobby is an amazing chef ! With his Trinidad taste with a mix to the Latino culture ! Really great flavors ! Proud to say for being a Mexican i can say it was super Lekker! We had cocktails so compliments to the bartender we had the mezcal mule and angel share . Food we ordered ceviche , taco de birria, patatas bravas and for dessert a muy rico CHOCOTORTA! Will be coming back!

We had a good experience. Food is good. Mix of Latin American food from different countries. Inside decor is warm and cosy. Service was a bit slow and lacking. Service can be improved. Maybe add more traditional dishes from other countries to the menu, and also a wider selection of Latin beers.
