Josper grill with a sundial out front

The Josper charcoal oven does the work, smoking sea bass and rib eye without much fuss around it. Spaghetti alle vongole is the chef's own favourite and the passion fruit meringue is the guilty one.

The name comes from the gnomon, the rod of a sundial, and one stands outside the door. This is the restaurant of the rebuilt Carlton Beach, so the sea is across the road.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful spots in Scheveningen! 🌊✨ The ocean view, the atmosphere, and the overall vibe make it such a special place to visit. We loved the fresh oysters, tasty tapas to share, and the Friday cocktails, the perfect combination for a great evening by the sea. A special thank you to Aaliyah for her amazing hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

There were few customers, so we were able to choose our own table. The staff were friendly, professional, and competent, and they helped us with our selection. The menus were clear and offered appealing dishes. Prices are slightly higher than a typical everyday restaurant. However, the cocktails impressed with their quality and generous portions – no corners were cut there. The atmosphere was pleasantly elegant. The food was beautifully presented and appeared to be of high quality. It's a good place to eat, but I would only return if the weather was bad. There are more attractive options in the area for better weather. We were completely satisfied. As part of our hotel reservation with half-board, we enjoyed a three-course meal every evening. The quality, taste, and presentation were outstanding. The service was also very attentive. The ambiance was very inviting. Breakfast was also very good, with something for everyone. The prices are absolutely reasonable for The Hague. We would gladly return.
