Wet Wednesday and the only pool table in the backpacker zone

Raindance runs the loudest bar on Santa Cruz's backpacker strip, built around a pool that turns into a dance floor once Wet Wednesday kicks off. It's the only hostel around here with a pool, and party nights fill up fast because of it.

Other nights it's a normal hostel bar and restaurant, with a treetop platform for drinks above the main deck. People talk about the food almost as much as the parties, which is rare for a bar this loud.

Good to know

Wet Wednesday starts around 4:30pm with DJs; get there early if you want a pool chair.
Cash only for most of the bar tabs.

Good place to meet people. Yes most of the buildings are a hostile. 4 minute walk from the restaurant they rent a tiny house. I'm a bit of a food snob so we did not really enjoy anything from the menu, but it was all edible. We stay there because they were limited options but honestly I would not come back again. However I'm still giving it five stars, the room was very clean and the Wi-Fi was fast.

Great location, great volunteers, great food, great rooms and great entertainment! What more could you ask for?! The forest is beautiful, the rooms are clean and well maintained, the volunteers are fun and friendly and we had a fantastic party night! We stayed here for 4 days and honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Definitely five stars from me!

Loved our stay at Raindance! The vibes were great, very socialable and activities every night! Bikes are super easy to rent as well and there’s good parking. The pool is really nice as well. It’s filled with spring water so no chemicals. Staff were very friendly and approachable as well! The dorms were very spacious with good security as well for bags. They can get very hot so we would chill outside until going to bed.

Simply the best hostel I stayed at during my visit to Ometepe. Super clean and with lots of space. Each bed at the dorms has enough privacy, with your own light and mini-fan. Plenty of common areas to get to know people. The staff is amazing!!! And they all are locals! My only suggestion for this hostel is for them to have a better variety in their menu at the cafeteria.

We had a great stay here. In a 12 bed dorm and not a worry about bugs because of the cages they have implemented into each bunk. Considering the hotel is surrounded by jungle, the place was surprisingly clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the casino night. Location was pretty good too!
