Coffee and waffles in an old timber house

Bakkastova sits in an old timber house in the Flåm valley, away from the harbour crowds. It's a small café doing coffee, waffles and simple homemade food for visitors and locals alike.

The garden and the old building are half the reason to come. The menu stays traditional and light, a good pause among the valley farms.

Was there some days ago. Had a very good carrot cake, and a americano. Very nice staff. Really cozy place. Due to the masses of wealthy tourists which come with the cruise ships, you have to accept the price levels, though.

Cute restaurant with local food, has a nice garden to sit and eat. Self service. We ordered soup and potato salad, it was nice. Good option to have a quick snack.

I'm glad to find this cozy cafe in the bustling Flam area offering delicious and nutritious vegetarian options as well. Don't miss the soup of the day & the potato sandwich/smørbrød. Yum! The servers were also vibrant and warm people.

This place is very calm and peaceful away from the ferry terminal. Few customers during lunch time which is appreciated. Close to the forest and with a view. Both our meals were amazing ! The potato salad was great for lunch, very fresh and filling. The toast was so good and very tasteful.

Relatively quiet little cafe at the base of the walking trails, this 'living room of the mountain' was a nice alternative to the crowded tourist outlets closer to the station. Simple offerings and friendly service. The coffee was good and even better paired with the brown cheese cheesecake. Outdoor seating available with some cover in case of a rainshower.
