A garden cafe tucked past the fair bridge.

Seating tucked into corners along the water here has regulars calling it some of the best in town. It's built as a garden cafe first, a bakery second. Close enough to downtown to walk, but far enough to feel like a break from it.

The bread and pastry program leans traditional, and in barely a year the shop has worked onto local coffee-circuit lists next to places open a decade. It runs long hours, 7:30am to 7pm daily.

We recently discovered this restaurant, thanks to a glowing recommendation from the Basura Busters volunteer group, which we're a part of. They've been doing amazing work keeping the Boquete area clean, and we're glad we took their suggestion. From the moment we walked in, we were treated to exceptional service. The staff welcomed us warmly and presented us with menus. We both opted for the lentil soup, which was accompanied by the most incredible grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had. The bread was freshly baked sourdough, and the combination of melted cheeses was absolute perfection. Our server spoke flawless English and was attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas, including a beautiful garden. Soft instrumental music played in the background, adding to the peaceful ambiance. We were genuinely sad to leave. The decor was a charming blend of rustic wood and garden elements, and the prices were incredibly reasonable. As we departed, the lady at the counter thanked us warmly. Our only regret is that we've been living in the Boquete area for 10 months and only just discovered this gem.

Quality burger and even better desserts. Nice value compared to other restaurants in town with a beautiful garden experience. Will be back!

Amazing staff, great atmosphere, good coffee and best desserts around. They have an amazing collection of desserts. We tried Apple pie (heavenly) and Pecan pie! They have coffee books in English! Also have games... We spent an amazing time here!

## Great Burger, Just a Couple of Quirks! I really wanted to give **The Baking Project** a full five stars because the food itself is fantastic, but a couple of operational hitches hold it back from being absolutely perfect. ### 🍔 The Food (The Real Highlight) * **The Deluxe Burger:** If you come here, **get this burger**. It is hands-down far superior to the regular burger. The flavor profile, the toppings, and the execution are top-tier. * **The Regular Burger:** It’s decent, but it just doesn't compare to the Deluxe. Do yourself a favor and upgrade. ### ⚠️ Why It's 4 Stars (Instead of 5) * **The Bread:** Ironically, for a place called *The Baking Project*, they don't actually bake their own bread. The buns are great, but you'd expect house-made dough given the name. * **The Fry Shortage:** They seem to struggle with their potato supply. On my last visit, they've either scrimped on the portion sizes or completely run out of french fries altogether. **The Verdict:** The Deluxe Burger is absolutely worth the trip, and the kitchen clearly knows how to cook a great patty. If they can fix the fry supply chain and maybe start baking their own bread, this place is an easy 5-star spot. Definitely one of towns best, worth a visit!
