A family café at a gas station toward La Arena

Dúo Café runs out of a Texaco station on the road toward La Arena, next to a Banco Nacional branch. It's a small, family-run spot built around breakfast, coffee and empanadas.

A local food account found it within days and called it a new café deli in Chitré worth the detour. The stuffed breads (panes rellenos) and gift boxes for special occasions set it apart from the usual gas-station café.

• Try the panes rellenos, a Dúo specialty not common elsewhere in Chitré.
