Botanic Bar sits inside Huon Gulf Hotel, close enough to the Lae Botanic Gardens that it borrowed the name. It's the quieter option compared to the bars across town at Lae International Hotel, built for a drink before dinner rather than a big night out.

There's a billiards table and a big screen for sport, so it's not just a wine-and-cheese hotel lounge. It only opens evenings, Monday through Saturday, and works best as a stop before dinner at Kasali Cafe next door.
