Specialty coffee on La Libertad in Santa Victoria
Black Mouth runs specialty coffee out of a small room on Avenida La Libertad, right in the stretch of Santa Victoria where most of Chiclayo's newer cafés have landed.
Skip the Sunday morning plan though, it doesn't open until 3pm that day, unlike the rest of the week.

I loved everything: the place, the coffee, and the chocolate were all 10/10. If anything could improve the experience, it would be having books available for customers, but the atmosphere is quite pleasant as it is.

A pleasant, quite comfortable atmosphere; the tables are large benches for six people. They use panela (unrefined cane sugar).

I visited the shop a while ago and was surprised by the variety of healthy desserts they offer. They're delicious and balanced in sugar, at least for the most part. The cinnamon roll was excessively sweet and didn't taste fresh, but the chilled desserts are indeed delicious. The coffee, in its various forms, is quite good and comes with cookies. On Mother's Day, they surprised customers with roses that day, a lovely touch. However, the back table is quite cold. My family really liked the coffee machine that used to be there as decoration, and I hope to return. The downside, which someone else has already mentioned, is that sometimes you're unpleasantly surprised when you get the menu and find that what you ordered is no longer available because it's sold out. You don't realize this until the server comes over, but the staff is always friendly.

I visited this place a few days ago; the atmosphere is very nice and welcoming. It was a bit awkward upon entering because none of the staff greeted us or offered any guidance; they just observed. It wasn't until a few seconds later that a young woman showed us to a table. I had to order several times because they kept telling me that each dessert I requested was unavailable, which was also annoying. :( The food and coffee were just okay despite the prices; I didn't feel it was worth the price (we ordered the carrot cake and the mango cheesecake). It's a shame I didn't have a good experience because the place is very pretty.
