Bar Rascal

Poland's biggest natural wine list, poured inside a ballet school

Bar Rascal takes up part of the National Ballet School building on Moliera Street and pours what it calls the largest natural wine selection in Poland, over five hundred labels, all imported by the owners themselves. Architect Dominika Buck and film producer Radek Drabik opened it as an extension of their import business, Natural Rascal.

It runs as a café with breakfast in the morning, then turns into a wine bar by night. Closed Sundays and Mondays.

I’m not entirely sure why they made the entrance so hidden, but the moment you step inside, you fall in love with the place! It’s wonderfully simple, spotlessly clean, and has a fantastic back garden. They serve a breakfast menu until 2 PM, after which they switch to an evening menu. The ingredients are so noticeably fresh that this place definitely deserves separate visits for both morning and evening—each has its own unique vibe. The staff are so lovely and friendly, making the whole experience truly delightful. My only minor critique is regarding the rock salt sprinkled on top of the food: I’m not sure if it was just my portion or if they tend to be a bit heavy-handed, but part of the meal was quite salty. Still, everything—right down to the cleanliness of the restrooms—was top-notch. Highly recommended!

We loved this place so much that we came back twice during our two-day stay in Warsaw! We sat outside on the gorgeous patio under the trees, which was such a lovely setting. The interiors are beautiful, and the whole place has a calm, Scandinavian feel that reminded me of Copenhagen. The food was delicious. We tried a few different egg dishes, and everything was fresh and beautifully prepared. The fresh bread was incredible, and the tomatoes genuinely changed my life. I couldn’t get enough of them! 😀 We had such a lovely experience both times we visited and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Warsaw. 🤍

Very pleasant courtyard and nice atmosphere. Food portions quite small. I got the impression that they try to make the food interesting by making it weird, but I don't agree with this idea. Chocolate mousse with salt and oil is not an improvement. Wines is a matter of taste. I don't see why a say an ecological wine cannot be made from a classic grape but I assume this is all a part of the urge to be different.

This place is very popular among the locals I think. In the evening, it is very full. People like drinking some wine while having some appetizers and chitchatting here as I observed. However, it was very noisy inside that we could hardly hear each other. The staff looks very busy going up and down. The service was slow. The food quality is good especially the bread.

Small hidden place. My friend found it and we try it on Sunday. Truffle omelette was good but "Mixed salad leaves with honey vinaigrette and comté cheese" was heavenly good. It was amazing. It was so good, that I ordered another one. Staff speak very good english and Bar Rascal was energetic and beautiful decoration. Food was outstanding and mouthwatering.
