Okhtein's Cairo handbags pick Riyadh over Dubai first

Okhtein means 'two sisters' in Arabic, and that's exactly what it is: a Cairo handbag label run by Aya and Mounaz Abdelraouf, built on sculptural brass hardware and bags made with Egyptian artisans. On April 14, 2025 they opened their first Saudi flagship on the ground floor of Kingdom Centre, the Olaya tower that's basically Riyadh's skyline shorthand.

A pop-up at Riyadh Park tested the waters first. The permanent store keeps the Egyptian craft references but leans into Saudi heritage details in the fit-out. Riyadh over Dubai for a first Gulf flagship says something about where this label thinks the region is heading.

Okhtein is an Egyptian brand of luxury handbags. I've seen them in Egypt for a long time, and now they've opened in Riyadh at Kingdom Centre. I love their sunglasses designs.
