Forget the salad-bar stereotype. MATi builds full plates entirely from plants, plus tea and coffee if you're settling in for a while.

It took over an address locals already knew from a previous, well-loved business on Calle de San Miguel, and it's filling a real gap: in the Casco Antiguo, vegetarian and vegan food had mostly been an afterthought on omnivore menus, not the whole point.

As I told the waiter, it was so wonderful to find a plant-based island in the middle of meat-loving Spain. For the first time, I could actually order cafe con leche! It was also the first time I have had ensaladilla rusa in the 11 years that I have been vegan, and my omnivore husband said it tasted authentic. Well done, Mati!!

I went there for breakfast, dinner and breakfast again. Loved it. Not just some boring sandwich for breakfast but a lot of options to choose for filling /toping with croissant or else. Friendly stuff and good coffee

Mati was an incredible find. As a vegan restaurant, they really go above and beyond, not just with creative, flavorful dishes, but with genuinely thoughtful service. The staff made us feel so taken care of and were super accommodating throughout. Amazing food, great vibe, and an experience that felt special. Would definitely come back.

We came early, but is only open for drinks until 20:00. The staff asked if we wanted to reserve and come back. We are glad that we reserved, because all the tables were booked! It got busy quickly after we arrived, but service was efficient and quick. As far as the food goes, we had olive paste toast for a starter, then had Chibatta bread sandwiches for mains (curry chick'n and tuna?). They were delicious! We shared a brownie for dessert. It was generous sized, but a little dry. It could be improved with a sauce drizzle, or a scoop of vegan ice cream. Prices were excellent!

Such an amazing vegan restaurant!! The service was excellent and the food was absolutely 10/10! We tried 2 different homemade pizzas and a cheesecake. Very delicious and the prices were really welcoming - 2 pizzas, 2 beers & a dessert just for 26e :)
