Live music on the sand three nights a week

Mambo's has held roughly the same stretch of Hikkaduwa beach for years, even if the exact spot shifts a bit with every reopening. Live music runs Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and the DJ sets after turn those nights into one of the busier beach parties in town.

It shuts down completely for the low season, so don't turn up expecting it open. The wood-fire kitchen does a solid poke bowl alongside the usual beach-bar menu, good for eating before the music starts.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing place right on the beach! We came here for dinner and ended up staying the whole evening. The atmosphere is very relaxed, with beautiful ocean views and great music. The food was fresh and delicious — especially the seafood and cocktails. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole vibe of the place is perfect for enjoying the sunset and a chill evening with friends. Definitely one of the nicest beach restaurants in Hikkaduwa. Highly recommend if you want good food, drinks, and a great beach atmosphere!

We had a fantastic dinner at Mambo’s in Hikkaduwa. We ordered the Paraw fish and a tuna steak, and both dishes were absolutely excellent. The quality of the food was outstanding. The fish was cooked perfectly — tender, fresh, and right on point. You could really taste how fresh it was and how carefully it was prepared. The service was just as impressive: friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. We felt very welcome and well taken care of.

Really nice evening at Mambo's. First time in years we've been here, really nice beach side restaurant. Good food arrived quickly and was very nice, good value. Lovely singer and live music when we were there. Much better than we thought it might be and we'll be back.

We've been going to this place since 2022, and every time it gets better and better. You can see that the guys are developing and taking care of their establishment. The food is always fresh and delicious, the staff is friendly and polite, there's often live music, guitar or just great tracks playing. We love this place, 5+ and up.

Honestly!!! An incredible place …I ordered the Jagerschnitzel (crispy chicken fillet with Parmesan, mushroom gravy, and mashed potato) while the others had fried rice and the seafood platter. Everything was super delicious! They also have two big golden retrievers so loving and adorable and a tiny baby pup who made the whole experience even better. Since it’s right on the beach, you can literally take a dip and then enjoy a wonderful meal after. They even had a live guitarist! So soothing so nice .. The staff were super nice, the hospitality was amazing, and the vibe was perfect. For three people, the bill was around 18,000 LKR, and honestly, it was worth every penny. They even have a spot in Arugambay during the season, so that’s definitely on my list next. The fried prawns were to die for! Mambos Hikkaduwa …..highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hikka side. Can’t wait to come back for their weekend live parties!
