Real sand, river view, no beach in sight

Zikiri Beach Bar trucked in actual sand and set it against a view of the Suriname River instead of a pool deck. Suriname's coast is mangrove, not sand, so this is the closest thing to the beach bars scattered across the Dutch Caribbean islands, minus the ocean.

It runs daily from 5pm to 11pm at the Courtyard by Marriott. Thursday's reggae rum and ribs night pulls in a crowd well beyond hotel guests.
