Barafu means ice in Swahili, and it's what Keys Hotel on Uru Road opened in place of just another lobby lounge. Launched December 12, 2025, it's got couches you can sink into, tall stools at the bar, a well stocked spirits shelf, and a playlist that swings between African hits and Western tracks.

Friday nights are the ones to catch, when The Sunrise Band plays live and the crowd spills well past the hotel's own guests. It's a short walk from the town centre, close enough to count as a proper night out, not just wherever you end up because you're already staying there.
