Chopper Bar is the default meeting point for backpackers passing through New Sukhothai. Two storeys plus a rooftop, a live band most nights, and a long menu of Thai food and drinks on the main guesthouse road.

Nobody comes for one reason alone. It's the beers, the band and the crowd heading to the Historical Park the next morning, all in one place that stays open late.

I came at around 6pm and it was dead but that’s okay because this isn’t really a spot for locals, just tourists which are sparse in Sukhothai. The guy who served me was really nice and checked how spicy I wanted the food, as well as bringing more spice on the side which was nice. I ordered the sukiyaki with pork and i’m not sure that what I was given is actually sukiyaki, it was just a classic thai noodle soup which was tasty just not what I was expecting. Loads of veg which was nice, I also ordered an iced coffee as well which was HUGE. The lovely lady behind the bar gave me some bananas for free which was so sweet of her. I’m not sure I would come here again but it did the job :)

The food was flavorless, and there was no eggs in my fried rice. Just a portion of Chicken, vegetables and rice. Soya would have been nice.

I don’t understand the negative reviews. The service was great, really friendly staff. Huge portions, and very tasty meals. And wonderful wooden place, with a balcony view looking out over the street.

Very surprised as on second floor I had a nice street view. Services took care of my phone power, let me smoke and small bottle of whisky with pocket of ice and coke for less than 280 bahts. No food but it look good

This is a great place. Service is great. They are attentive and friendly. The drink menu is a big book! Lots to choose from. They have a patio on the second floor overlooking the street and lots more seating inside. Love the decor! Sometimes I think they do karaoke or live music because there was a stage area The food and drinks are delicious!!! Recommend everything.
