Storks nest on the Roman aqueduct right above this Selçuk institution, and the street tables put you close enough to watch them all summer. The menu sticks to grilled meat, meze and home-style Turkish plates, nothing fussy about it.

It's the kind of place that has fed generations of travellers passing between the ruins of Ephesus and the coast. Order the kebabs and cold meze and you won't go wrong.
