Leb-i Derya
Istanbul Opened Opening date unknown
Rooftop drinks and dinner over the strait
Leb-i Derya, whose name means the edge of the sea, sits at the top of a building on Kumbaracı Yokuşu, reached by a small lift, with a terrace that looks out over the mouth of the Bosphorus and the old city. It works as a cocktail bar and a restaurant at once, busiest in the evening as the light goes.
The kitchen does a mix of Turkish and international plates, but the terrace and the view are the reason it has stayed on the Beyoğlu map for years. Booking a terrace table for sunset is the move.
