A Didsbury wine bar obsessed with bubbles

Skip the champagne list and go straight for the good stuff. Cru's sparkling wine list digs deep into bottle-fermented bubbles beyond the usual names, with small plates built to match rather than just fill space beside the glass.

Warburton Street is a short pedestrian lane off Didsbury village's main road, one of the better spots in south Manchester for lingering over a glass. Didsbury has plenty of bars, but few treat the wine list with this much care.

I celebrated my birthday at Cru in February and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was perfect, and Garry put together a fantastic lineup of wines that we all loved. My friends and I had such a great time- everything from the service to the drinks was spot on. Highly recommend for a special occasion!🍷🍷

We had been to cru a few times and loved it, this made us reach out to them about sourcing the wine for our wedding. They organised a tasting evening with us after discussing our preferences and it was great. Gary was very attentive and supportive of two people whose love of wine is high, but knowledge is limited. We were able to try different wines in a lovely relaxed setting and have now picked our wedding wines. Really enjoyable and memorable experience and would strongly recommend.

Our fave place to go on a Friday. The CRU (Henry, Gavin and Garry) are welcoming hosts and curate expert wine lists and wine-laced foods to match. Highly recommend!

Fantastic evening at Cru for the Partners in Wine event. The small plates were absolutely incredible and the wine pairings perfectly selected. With each course they spoke to us about the wine makers and the wine itself. They are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do and it really shows. Love coming here and will definitely be looking out for future events.
