Mouro

Mouro's third Manchester spot, now on Tib Street

Mouro landed on Tib Street in May 2026, its third Manchester location after two earlier sites around the city. The two-storey space is built around speciality coffee, with a pastry case running cinnamon buns next to sandwiches. It's another addition to a street that already has plenty of cafes.

The fit-out has more detail than most coffee bars bother with, nothing minimal about it. Upstairs seating gives you more room to sit than most Northern Quarter cafes manage. Early reviews point straight to the cinnamon buns as the order to make first.

Great new addition to Tib street. Great coffee and cakes!! The staff here are what makes this place such an inviting place to come too. Definitely my go to spots.

Quiet coffee shop, simple and clean decoration with reasonable price. Good spot for morning coffee.

Fantastic new opening on Tib Street. My usual place is just up the road at Siop. Really friendly service at Mouro, everyone seemed very knowledgeable on their coffee. We only had coffees but they tasted great. It’s a busy place, understandable as it’s new and makes a good brew! They do allow laptops out on tables in there, make of that what you will. Overall a great coffee, will be back for that!

Tried the freddo (match and cappacchino), flat white, cappuccino, strawberry iced matcha, and hojicha — honestly, all of them were excellent. I was especially surprised by the strawberry iced matcha. Usually matcha drinks can end up tasting diluted or like leafy water, but this one felt rich. I also loved the interior design and the interesting selection of both sweet and savoury food options. The seating is comfortable, and it’s a great spot to relax. Definitely a café I’d come back to and great addition to the neighbourhood. The Freddo collection are just shorter, foamy and slightly sweetened and more condensed version of the same drinks. I actually really like it and it’s such a change to my usual orders. Latest update: Finally had the Pistachio Cinnamon Bun. Perfect size and doesn’t feel too big. The texture is soft and it is not too sweet. The pistachio icing/cream on top really made it. I was told the buns are made fresh in house everyday. £4

Mouro has quietly become my favourite coffee stop in Manchester, and the new Tib Street spot confirms exactly why. The space is stunning: terrazzo floors, marble-topped tables, warm wood details, the kind of room that makes you want to stay for a second cup just to sit in it a bit longer. But it never feels like it’s trying too hard. It feels like a neighbourhood place that just happens to be beautifully put together. The coffee is exceptional. House-roasted, consistently brilliant, and the espresso icing on the cinnamon bun alone is worth the trip. The team are warm without being performative about it. They clearly care about what they’re doing, and it shows. Mouro already had a loyal following in Heaton Moor and Altrincham for a reason. Now that they’re in the Northern Quarter, the rest of Manchester can find out what the south side already knew. Don’t sleep on it.
