Basement desserts and cocktails, open late in Poncey-Highland
Skip dinner and go straight for dessert. Bar ANA sits in the basement of El Ponce, a 21-and-over spot where James Beard-nominated pastry chef Claudia Martinez plates dessert like it's the main event, not an afterthought.
The menu runs snacks, plated desserts, signature cocktails, wine, beer and nonalcoholic drinks. It's a late-night option built around sweets in a neighborhood used to the usual dinner-and-a-drink format.

Best dessert spot EVER. If you have to order one thing from here, get the strawberry sorbet one, it is so delicious and multi-layered. The mini peach has multiple notes to it and combines into this beautifully crafted dessert. A lot of thought behind everything presented. Service is incredible and hosts do a wonderful job of accommodating and providing a welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be returning!

We LOVED this place and can't wait to go back! I had the pavlova and my husband had the chocolate strawberry hazelnut situation which he LOVED and my dessert was MADE for me! Merengue with a marshmallow center!? Bright, floral hibiscus sorbet!? Our server was super attentive and the playlist was damn good. Buuuut the experience was a wee tainted by the bar stools; when I say they were insanely uncomfortable!? Maybe it's because we're elder millennials? Maybe the youths love them!? Couldn't be me, chile. We likely wouldve stayed longer and ate more if they were more comfortable, but maybe that's the point... so people won't linger? We put our name on their waitlist and thought it'd be a half hour wait but they got us in within 10 so maybe it's a good strategy!? We'd already had wine with dinner before arriving so we didn't try the cocktails and can't wait to go back to get into them! We'll be sure to make a reservation next time and indicate "table" so we can really get into the vibe.

Came here with a group of friends to try all of the plated desserts. All the desserts were beautiful and delicious. The guava donuts are a huge must to get. Only two downsides. One is that it is too loud to have an enjoyable conversation with your party. Two is that there should be better lighting at the table to admire the artistry that is put into these desserts.

gf brought me here on a date as we both love sweets and drinks. we were kind of lost as theres no real signs leading to entrance. Once inside the Atmosphere was chill, nothing crazy music was a little quiet. First we had the Mango Sorbet; 5/10 from both we felt it couldve been more flavorful. Next we had Macerated Strawberries; 4/10 We also felt this one lacked flavor. Our least favorite were the Guava Glazed Donuts: 3/10 perhaps just not our style but was really not a good combo the Guava and Glaze

I visited Bar Ana for my birthday and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! We ordered the guava glazed doughnuts (pink peppercorn streusel - cream cheese ice cream) and lemon drop. The music selection was great and just the right volume so we could still hear each other when we talked. I loved the decor! The interior design is beautiful. The low lighting and pink hue worked perfect together. Our waitress was Katie D and she was awesome. I will definitely be back for a nightcap.
