Bar Bamboosh

★ 5.0 · 20 reviews San Antonio Opened 7 May 2026

Natural wine, no pretense, right downtown

Skip the chain hotel bars and head for the small room pouring serious natural wine with a bistro menu that keeps things simple. Bar Bamboosh is Chad Carey's follow-up to Little Death, his wine bar on the St. Mary's Strip, and it brings the same unfussy approach to downtown.

The room is small and design-forward, built for lingering over a glass rather than rushing through one. Downtown has plenty of hotel bars; this is the one with an actual wine list worth reading.

This place is a true gem. I almost don't want to share them and want to keep Bar Bamboosh to myself. Their Happy Hour is cute...you have to experience it yourself. ♥️ They have a nice variety of bottled wines for sale...or some by the glass. Ya gotta visit Bar Bamboosh!

This place is a fantastic hidden gem! New, only open for a month. Great wine selection for purchase and on tap. Cool spot to chill and have a few drinks!

We came with friends to this place and the experience has been flawless. A large choice of wines, beers and good food to go with in a cosy atmosphere. Special thanks to Julia, who made me feel like home with the Chablis, Goudale beer and tasty pork rillettes! Thank you again from France for your energy and kindness! I warmly recommend this place and will definitely come back next time.

Good wine, friendly people and a nice little patio for people-watching. Cheese plates and other small things to eat. Not many places like it downtown!

Solid spot! Good wine, chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and a good mix of indoor seating with a clean outdoor patio setup. Appreciated that they had vegan-friendly finger foods! Happy hour from 3-6 too, which makes it an easy stop after work or before a night out. Definitely a spot I’d go back to!
