All-day cooking on the Carrasco rambla, named for a grandmother
Grab a window table facing the water and time it for merienda, when the light comes in low over the rambla. Charo sits next to Casa ViaSono in Carrasco, named after founder Leticia Copiz's grandmother.
Copiz trained as a nutritionist, and it shows: vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes run right alongside the regular menu, not off in some separate corner. The kitchen covers breakfast through dinner.

Delicious and delicate, served in one of three distinct areas: an outdoor space, a dimly lit area near the wood-fired oven, and a brighter, sun-drenched area. The dishes change weekly, so there's nothing boring, just delicious food. The cooked eggplant, squash, and a delightful green sauce were excellent, the quinoa salad was very good, and the shrimp risotto was truly superb.

Amazing food. The bar is easily one of the best I have ever seen. They make drinks properly. Had all the specials they had that day. Wonderful meal, will be back every time I am in Uruguay!

Really nice restaurant/cafe. Wonderful garden views and friendly service. There is also a deco store next to it to browse around!
