The old-guard pastry name just claimed the mall's best corner

King Sao has been the confectionery and tea salon to know in Punta del Este for over 50 years. Now it's the ground-floor anchor at the new La Barra Mall, same pastries and takeaway counter, just a bigger stage.

La Barra Mall is trying to pull shoppers back from Punta Shopping, and King Sao signing on here reads like a vote of confidence in that comeback. Open daily 9am to midnight, so a late-night medialuna run is very much on the table.
