Urth Cafe sits on Jacaranda Avenue in Buyantanshi and runs on two different clocks. Coffee and pastries open the day from 7am, then cold beers and crafted mixers take over once the evening crowd arrives. Breakfast meetings fill the morning tables, drinks fill the same seats after dark.

Bookings go through its own website, unusual for an independent cafe in Kitwe. Buyantanshi doesn't have the density of food spots that Parklands or Mukuba does, and that gap is part of why Urth has become one of the few destination cafes in that part of the city.

Good to know

Coffee and snacks start at 7am, but the breakfast menu doesn't kick in until 8:30.
It doubles as a bar in the evening, worth knowing if you're expecting a quiet daytime cafe only.

May I just say the best Masala tea in town! The service was on point ( loved the popcorn complimentary snack as we waited for our meal). Main food was flavourful and well enjoyed especially paneer 65 and butter chicken. We'll be back soon😋

Small and cozy eatery, most suitable for friedly outings and dates. The Indian chef is great. Portion sizes are decent and taste is great too. Food takes some time to arrive as they prepare it fresh. Recommended for repeat visits.

Had breakfast here. Food was fair I guess mild means bland. I’d advise everyone to order medium and not mild. Wait was not too long and food was fresh. The flies seem to be part of the ambiance and there are no mitigation measures in place

Had many a meal at Urth Café. From breakfast to dinner and in between. Their coffee is amazing! The food is fresh and have loads of options available. Food is healthy, light and full of flavour. Unique signature dishes that they have which aren't found elsewhere. Their menu & cuisine is varied from Italian, Indo-Chinese, Middle-Eastern, Indian to Mediterranean. Huge selection of chips/fries in decent portions.
