The old Athletic Club grounds, back open under new management.

The Hangout opened on 11 April 2026 at BAC, the old Bulawayo Athletic Club grounds on 12th Avenue Extension, opposite Bulawayo Polytechnic. New management brought the venue back after it sat closed under the previous operator. Live DJs and bands played from the first weekend. The events calendar hasn't slowed down since.

BAC's history as a sports and social club left it with more open ground than most Bulawayo nightlife spots get. The Hangout uses it: wine evenings some nights, full festival lineups on others. The crowd is old enough to remember what BAC used to be.

  It was a great night there, had gone to watch Reece Madlisa and Zuma. The service there was great but they should put more gas heaters outside. The winter is getting cold.

  Loved the vibe feels more like Byo! Makes me feel so at home and love my city. The place is beautiful. And the ladies rooms absolutely clean. 😊👌🏾
