Burgers and a coffee milkshake worth the hype on First Street

Zimbo's Café built its name on two things: burgers and a coffee milkshake regulars talk about more than the food itself. It's on First Street, in the middle of Mutare's CBD. Tables fill up fast at lunch, though the space never feels cramped.

The menu leans modern, more diner than traditional coffee shop, but the coffee holds its own too. Open Monday through Saturday. The crowd runs younger than the older-guard cafes nearby.

I love coming here with my wife, or meeting friends, usually in the comfy garden. We usually order one plate of the tasty Zimbo burger (huge!) and chips, and it is enough for both of us (although people with big appetites will want to order separate plates). Staff very friendly. Prices very reasonable.

Perfect cafe for a relaxing break, featuring wonderful pastries, espresso drinks, tea, and their famous burgers. Outdoor quiet garden setting with room for kids to play. Excellent spot to plan your next adventure, study or catch up with a friend.

Great food huge portions. The burgers are double the size of anywhere I have ever been. And located in an oasis of calm right in the middle of Mutare at the Hellenic club by the Greek Orthodox church. Seating inside or in the green and relaxing garden.
