Aqua Palm - Les Jardins des Zibans

A pool built to give the desert something else to draw visitors.
Aqua Palm sits inside Les Jardins des Zibans, the 44-hectare landscaped park on the Sidi Okba road that's been in development since the mid-2010s. Landscape architect Kamel Louafi designed the wider Zibans park around an 11-hectare water zone, and Aqua Palm is the part of it built for actually getting in the pool rather than walking the grounds.
It's a rare piece of large-scale tourism infrastructure this far south, built explicitly to give Biskra something to draw day-trippers beyond the desert and the date palms. Summer weekends are when it runs at full capacity, based on how it's talked about locally.
