Chakhchoukha under a tent, not a plastic-chair dining room.

Khaymati takes its name from the khaïma, the desert tent, and the dining room leans into it: woven textiles on the walls, low lighting, a layout that nods to a Bedouin camp rather than a standard restaurant. It's one of the few places in Biskra that puts the region's own cooking front and center instead of defaulting to grilled meat and pizza.

Chakhchoukha, shredded flatbread soaked in a rich tomato-and-meat sauce, is the dish people come back for, alongside zviti and hmiss kessra. The menu keeps a tight focus on Zibani food rather than chasing every cuisine at once, and the staff will happily talk you through what's what if you're new to Saharan cooking.

  We had a wonderful time as a family. The food was delicious, the decor was traditional, the welcome was warm, and the service impeccable. My daughters really enjoyed the chekhchoukha, even though they don't usually like it. We'll definitely go back when we're in Biskra.

  The food was really tasty and varied 😋 and the waiter was extremely kind and welcoming 🙏. I even ordered ☕️ coffee which was not available but because he was so galant, he went elsewhere and got ne coffee. I strongly recommend 👌 👍 for tourists and visitors to Biskra. You will not regret it
