Candlelit dinner among 18th-century stone pillars on the water

Pillars takes its name from the stone columns of a Georgian sail loft, still standing at the water's edge inside Nelson's Dockyard. It's the restaurant of the Admiral's Inn, a three-story building put up in 1788 to store naval supplies, and the tables sit close enough to the marina that superyachts tie up a few feet away in winter.

Breakfast is eggs and fruit on the terrace. Dinner is grilled fish and Caribbean plates by candlelight. Go during Antigua Sailing Week or the Charter Yacht Show, when the dockyard fills with crews on a night off.

Beautiful setting with one of the best views in English Harbour. The grilled mahi mahi was excellent and the shrimp & papaya salad was fresh and delicious. Service was warm, attentive, and professional throughout the evening.

What an amazing view. Loved it. The waitress exceeded expectations. She volunteered to take our pictures and had us do several different poses with the view in the background. It was a delight to be there and have lunch. We ordered burgers and they also exceeded our expectations. It was overall great. We would be happy to return and eat there again.

Great place to drink and have food. Lovely breeze and views of the English Harbour. Had rack of ribs and a tuna salad. Both were amazing!

A truly fabulous Christmas Eve dinner! The Pillars offered the most elegant setting for our holiday celebration. The food was exquisite, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere by the water was simply magical. An unforgettable evening in Antigua!
