A British pub washed up on Antigua's west coast

Fish and chips, a proper Sunday roast, and a Canadian dish or two on the specials board: Mongoose & Marlin is the first British pub in Jolly Harbour's rebuilt Commercial Village. Mark and Karen Liddell gave up retirement to open it in February 2026.

Bring the dog, there's a small garden out back. Construction near the Commercial Village closed it for several weeks that year, a reminder most of Jolly Harbour's newest tables sit on the same unfinished building site.

Today was our first opportunity to eat at Mongoose and Marlin ... the Fish and Chips were OUTSTANDING. After 10 years sailing the Caribbean we have not found anywhere that can make a Fish and Chips that is even close to what Mongoose and Marlin serve. Congrats and we will be back!!!!

Great place for lunch or dinner. We had amazing fish and chips. They bring in special fish to be authentic. We also had a hamburger and the best fish burger I have ever had. I will be definitely going back.

Clean, quality food with great flavour. My new favourite burger on the island! The scotch egg and sausage roll are also amazing — highly recommend. The staff is also very friendly.

This is the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The best pint from 268, and a Scotch egg for starter… and those chips wow !!!
