Five Canberra school friends opened this Smith Street shop as their second, after starting one in Braddon. Everything's secondhand and priced to move: Glassons shirts around twenty dollars, Kate Hill heels for forty-five, no archive designer markups.
What sets it apart is the buying counter staying open every single day, rare for secondhand in Melbourne and the reason the racks keep changing. Follow their Instagram to catch new drops before they're gone.
Good to know
- They buy as well as sell, seven days, so bring a bag if you're clearing out.
- Prices are marked in the teens and twenties, not designer resale money.

I saw the store. It offers branded high end goods. I have given few of mine for their inspection and acceptance. I am told they will inform me about it tomorrow as it takes 2-3 hrs to process the outcome. The hype about shop is huge on TV. Products price in the store is not cheap. They are putting themselves in a very competitive market against big thrift stores like Vinnies, Salvos, Savers etc How they gonna survive against them, don’t know. Best of luck to them! And I certainly await the outcome for my clothes tomorrow!

Had such a great experience selling my unwanted clothes to Garmes today! The service was fantastic, and the vibe in the shop was so welcoming and pumping! I especially loved how easy the whole process was, and getting cash paid on the day for my items was such a great bonus! It made clearing out my wardrobe feel even more worthwhile. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a retail store this busy on a Monday! It was amazing to see so many people there, and the whole experience was easy, friendly and enjoyable. Definitely recommend Garmes if you have clothes you no longer wear and want to give them a new home — and walk away with some instant cash!
