Tea on the terrace, 1,600 meters up Tufandag

You don't wander into Gabala Cafe, you ride there. The Tufandag cable car hauls you 1,600 meters up from the valley floor, and the terrace at the top is the whole point. Samovar tea and pastries make up the spread, not a full menu.

It shuts at 5pm, earlier than most places in town, so treat it as a break between ski runs or a hike rather than a dinner plan.

Good to know

• Closes at 5pm, plan the cable car trip around that.
• Come for tea and the view, not a full meal, the menu is limited.
