Bar Misera

A cozy wine bar, steps from Nicolas Misera's starred kitchen
Nicolas Misera and Yasmin Weyn opened Bar Misera a few metres from their Michelin-starred restaurant Misera, a smaller, cozier room with Parisian bistro energy. Book a table, or just wander in for a glass.
That one glass has a habit of turning into a full evening here, the kind of place that rewards staying rather than rushing off.

The food is good, but expensive ... especially if they pretend to be merely a (wine-)bar. The wine is overpriced with glasses ranging from 14 to 20€. The service was very friendly, and would have been perfect if it had not been for the sommelier. He did not know what was meant with a dry white wine ... clueless whether he simply did not know or whether he wanted to make himself interesting ... I assume the latter.

Always amazing food, we love the delicious fish plateau as a starter 👍 The waiters are also very friendly and kind. The design is very cosy and chic. The only minus is the music. it would be good to change the French music playlist, we already came 4 times and it’s always the same. It’s also a bit too loud. We would prefer some cafe lounge jazz style ;-)

A pleasant dinner with some highs and lows. The crudo of fish and seafood was perfect, fresh and beautifully prepared. The fish vol-au-vent was a disappointment: the pastry was good, but there was too much sauce and the fish pieces were too small, which threw off the balance of the dish. The Otage wine was excellent. Friendly service, and I loved their playlist, great music choice that really set the mood.

For the recent hype I’d say the food is average-mid based on the price you pay, and the service is very slow. We only got asked for a drink when we sat down, and never asked for another until the end. The bread was missed and came out after starters arrived (after we mentioned it), and then we were charged twice for it having to ask to remove one. The champagne oysters were tasteless, and not worth the price. The cod in the mains was very delicious, but the portions of the sides is poor for the price with 3x potatoes only. The croquette was tasty but also poor portion wise as for that price I’d expect more than just 1x. The negroni was lovely. Overall I’d say it’s nice for the ambience, a drink and 1-2 dishes - but most of them just lacked flavour for the price you pay.
