A chef's own restaurant, named after his son

Jente Van der Stappen trained as an accountant before he admitted he'd rather cook. Now Felix Moonsstraat is Diest's best table for French-Belgian food, a black-and-white tiled room that reads like a Paris bistro. The menu never wavers: five starters, five mains, five desserts.

Gault&Millau scored Jerome 13 out of 20 within its first year, fast for a debut kitchen. Even the salsify gets treated like a headline act, not a side note.

Very tasty brasserie/restaurant. Very fresh dishes, well prepared, and very professional reservations. All this in a beautiful setting and at a reasonable price. The free parking nearby after 6 pm is also a plus, being so close to the city center.

We had a delicious meal here. All the dishes were perfectly prepared, and the suggested white wine simply “finished off” the fish in a salt crust. Clearly, a lot of attention has been paid to details regarding the food, the service, and the interior. Highly recommended!
