A glass-domed bar-restaurant on the Vismarkt, cooking the world's menu

Thirteen opened on 10 October 2025 on the Nauwstraat, in the old storage space of Mille and Pintxos. Burhan Demir (36) and his wife Dilara (33) run the place, mixing Italian, Greek, Egyptian, Moroccan and Turkish design into a mood that feels closer to Istanbul or London than to a Belgian market square.

A retractable glass dome opens the main room to the sky whenever the weather holds. The menu jumps from butter chicken to risotto to sushi, and there's a DJ behind the decks most nights.

Restaurant Thirteen is a true gem in the heart of Mechelen's culinary district. The interior is beautiful, stylish, and has a sophisticated international feel that immediately sets the tone for a great evening. The menu offers an excellent variety of dishes, making it easy to find something for every taste. We chose the paella, and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The service was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Combined with its prime location, fantastic atmosphere, and outstanding food, Thirteen is a restaurant we'll gladly recommend to anyone visiting Mechelen. We will definitely be back.

The best service I’ve had in a long time! Restaurant 13 is great, but Eren is the star of the show. He is so attentive and friendly and he made sure everything was perfect at my table. He definitely runs the floor like a pro. If you're eating here, you’re in good hands with him ☺️

Tucked on a narrow Mechelen street, this cozy gem blends Parisian charm, Milanese flair, and Viennese elegance beneath a soaring skylight roof. Greek statues divide intimate zones: velvet banquettes and intricately designed tables. A curving staircase with warm, earthy roundness leads to more seating above. Staff are attentive, personal, and effortlessly friendly. The menu offers plenty of food choices—classic, modern, vegan, and more—for every taste. Prices are fair for the center. Verdict: A welcoming, stylish gem. Book early.

Went here for lunch, it was very calm and the staff were very friendly having a charming laugh about me and my girlfriends t-shirts. The brioche croques were delicious!

Tuna tataki was amazing. charcuterie board is nice but a little underwhelming variety & presentation wise. Tempura was not light enough. Arachini is yummy. Appreciate the gyoza is handmade but the fillings is a little too gooey for my taste. Love the variety of tea they have there and their service is professional and efficient. The ambience is amazing. I would visit again just to try out some other dishes just because of the ambience.
