Ember moved on 14 September 2024 into a stately building on the Guldenstraat, where Zino Jacobs and Arthur Doppée keep building their kitchen around open fire and charcoal.

They grill and smoke regional produce over live flame, chasing pure, robust flavour over unnecessary flourish.

This restaurant is known for the beautiful harmony between its cuisine and wine. If you’re lucky, you might even run into the famous DJ Hans working there as a sommelier. He’ll recommend perfectly paired wines and dishes, so you can simply sit back and enjoy an unforgettable food and wine experience — truly perfect。

Very positive experience with some experimental cooking and presentation. Nice detail is that they have very nice cutlery and glasses! Friendly staff. Only thing I found a bit unlike the quality of other things served, was the coffee.

Truly exquisite. The service, the food, the atmosphere. It is a wonderful experience. We were three and all had the tasting menu (two regular and one veggie variant). All local produce, smoked on fire 🔥 including their de.li.cious bread. And the mushroom ragout, my goodness, best mushroom dish ever. Every “taster” comes with a matching alcoholic or nonalcoholic drink; also all very tasty. And the service is friendly and polite, without being pedantic. We’re going back for sure!
