Vegan brownies, house-roasted coffee and a risotto everyone orders twice

Café Tango is Samaipata's vegetarian and vegan stop on Calle Arce. The team roasts and grinds its own organic coffee on site, and the small kitchen turns out vegan brownies, organic chocolate and a risotto that shows up on more tables than anything else on the menu. Plants fill the dining room, calm enough that regulars talk about the space before they even get to the food.

Breakfast leans on pancakes finished with cinnamon and vanilla. The shop also stocks vegan products that are hard to find elsewhere in Bolivia. It's a small room, better for a slow morning than a group dinner.

Forgot to take photo of the soup that owner recommend. They are both great and owner gave me a very warth welcome. That really calmed me down especially when I just arrived in a foreign country and a new place. Glad that I chose Cafe Tango for my first meal in Samaipata.

The only full on veggie place here (that I know of). Great food, so definitely recommend. Meals are prepared on the spot, so yes that takes a bit of time, it's not fastfood ;) but that's the beauty of it and if you combine your meal with let's say an empanada, you're still getting served pretty quick. Also vegan option available. Kitchen closes around 18:30/19:00.

This is such a hidden gem! The food is amazing, with good prices, lots of opportunities and Healthy ingredients. The owner is so nice, and make you feel at home. We came back three times during our stay!

We ate several times at Cafe Tango. The tikka masala with rice, the curry with rice and the empanadas were super delicious. The entire team is super kind and friendly. The murals are lovely painted. We recommend to try out some juices and at least the bananabread!
