A Portuguese tasca, bifanas and cold beer

Pedra calls itself a tasca, not a restaurant, and that distinction matters: this is the Portuguese cross between a bar and a lunch counter. Cebolada, bifana and cold beer make up the core reading list.

The bet here is that Bulgarian and Portuguese eating habits rhyme. Simple food, inherited recipes, no ceremony. Order the bifana first and argue about the rest later.

Absolutely wonderful small place. We found it unexpectedly, great food, atmosphere and service. Smiley and friendly customer service, we had a great talk. Left the place with a smile 😊 Thank you.

I only tried one of their dishes and it was alright. I still have to go back to try some of their staples m, this time apparently it would have taken 20 minutes to get the fries ready for franzesina so it’ll have to be for another time. The lady at the cash register was very nice and friendly. They were out of Super Bock though. Still, probably the only Portuguese food place in Sofia so worth a try

Authentic Portuguese meals, cooked by a Portuguese chef, I've been there several times, I go mainly for the pasteis, they serve them warm , as they should be. I tried the cachoro, really crunchy and delicious, as I call it mini francesinha. The playlist is also hand picked by the Portuguese owner. Really a piece of Portugal in Sofia.

My portuguese partner and I stopped by for a pastéis de nata and a café since we were visiting the city for only 3 days. We were pleasantly surprised because we rarely find good pastéis outside of Portugal. The price was decent as well, about 3€ for the combo.

Came across this cute place by accident, had a coffee and a pastel de nata, both impressive! The girl is super super nice and polite, had a great chat. Will definitely be back for the live music over the weekend, a glass of Portuguese wine and some warm food 🧡
