Shipping containers built to feel like a real street

After the July 2024 wildfire took roughly a third of the Jasper townsite, the municipality turned a Connaught Drive parking lot into a retail village built from modified shipping containers. The bike shop Vicious Cycle moved in first, arguing that clustering displaced businesses would read as a shopping street rather than scattered trailers.

Around eight more followed within two months. Coco's Café, Andaaz Indian Cuisine and Jasper Motorcycle Tours are among the tenants who've traded from here since.

Good to know

• Hours vary unit by unit, check each business rather than the village as a whole.
• The Artists Studio runs from April 2025 to October 2026 and can be booked by the week or month through engagejasper.ca.
