Half bookshop, half art shop, plus a fridge of craft beer

LUX sits in the arcade behind the old Vesmír cinema on Nádražní, and it doesn't quite know if it's a bookshop or an art shop. Books make up about half the turnover, the rest is vinyl, comics, posters, prints, postcards, brooches and jewellery from local artists.

Jan Dvořák and Jana Dvořáková run it after a decade behind Ostrava's Inverze literary festival and the bar Nox, and the small-press, indie-magazine leaning shows. Grab a craft beer from the fridge and browse. Closed Mondays for restocking.

Good to know

• Closed Mondays, that is restocking and inventory day.
• Books are only about half of what they sell; the rest is vinyl, prints, comics and work by local artists.
