A 200-year-old glassworks finally opens its own Prague shop

Skip the souvenir shops. Crystalex has made Bohemian glass in Nový Bor since the early 1800s, and this is its first-ever store, tucked into the ground floor of Masaryčka, Zaha Hadid's building by Masarykovo nádraží.

No chandeliers here, just drinking glass: tumblers, stemware, collector's pieces and limited series sold individually. Most crystal sold to tourists in Prague comes from shops with no factory behind them, so an actual manufacturer opening its own address stands out. There are tastings and workshops too, using Crystalex's own glassware.

Good to know

Open daily until 8pm, later than most design shops in the centre.
They run tastings and workshops in the store, ikebana and wine evenings have both happened here.

A truly pleasant experience every time I visit. On Tuesday, I was assisted by two ladies who were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and kind. They kindly offered to order the items I had seen online, and everything was ready for me to pick up today, Thursday. Today, I was helped by a very polite and helpful gentleman who assisted me with ordering additional glasses. Everything was handled smoothly and with great care. I also want to say that I absolutely love my Koi glasses. The quality and design are excellent. I sincerely appreciate the level of service and attention I received during each visit.
