Czech knitwear cut to fit, not to a size chart, in a Žižkov shopfront

Skip the size chart. Vanami cuts its knitwear to adjust to the body instead, made in small runs after years of selling online and at markets before this shop opened.

Paintings, jewellery and small objects from other makers share the shelves, so it reads more like a neighbourhood concept store than a single-brand boutique. Bořivojova is one of the streets where Žižkov's independent shops have clustered, a few minutes uphill from Jiřího z Poděbrad, and Vanami is one of the newer names on it.

Good to know

• Open Wednesday to Friday, 2pm to 6pm, short hours, plan around them.
• Pieces are made in variable sizing rather than fixed S/M/L.
