Iberian small plates from the team behind Donda
The restaurant group behind Donda opened Solène on Århusgade on 24 January 2026, an all-day spot built around Spanish and Portuguese cooking, small and larger plates finished over coals rather than the raw-bar format the group is known for elsewhere.
Expect char and smoke to do a lot of the work on the menu, alongside a wine list that leans toward the Iberian peninsula rather than France or Italy.

Solene is the basque focused restaurant from the Donda family and like the other Donda restaurants it’s a solid meal and excellent value. Loved the Pulpo skewers. And the Tuna crudo with strawberry gazpacho was yum. Mussels with XO sauce scooped up with the bread. And our table shared both the poussin in piri piri and mackerel in mojo verde. Once you add in the patatas bravas and asparagus sides, it’s a lot of food. Excellent value for 500 Kr. Add in a couple of glasses of wine and it’s €100 for an amazing meal. Highly recommended.

I was really excited to hear the opening of a new restaurant, especially when the other two restaurants of the same chef that we have tried are extremely tasteful. Really nice service with Clara, amazing food and great vibe. The restaurant is honestly a gem in the neighbourhood.
