Dumplings and yakitori at the Westin's front gate

Right at the entrance to the Westin Puntacana Resort & Club, Bao runs a pan-Asian kitchen worth crossing the resort for. Dumplings, yakitori skewers, and a Korean fried chicken plate that regulars order every single visit. Dinner only, 6pm to 10:30pm.

You don't need a room key to get a table. Reservations are open to outside diners too, which isn't the norm this deep inside Puntacana's gated grounds.

We saw the reviews about meh service but decided to come anyways and had a great experience! The food was delicious and Darien was a lovely server! My only complaint was that there was no cocktail menu even though they have a full bar.

The spicy edamame and shrimp pad Thai were delicious and piping hot! A bit pricey though. The service was good. Their English is much better than my Spanish but I had a hard time understanding sometimes. The atmosphere was not busy but the ambient music was a little on the loud side.

Ok this place is fantastic! The food was incredible and the service was absolutely perfect. The mediocre or negative reviews are 100% wrong. The nigiri was shockingly good, even better than my usual fav spots in SF and Los Angeles. Perfect creative mix of flavors paired with the best quality fish and meats. Even the rice was perfect. Been to Japan enough times to judge sushi pretty well and this place delivers. We also had the shumai (10 out of 10), cucumber salad (one of the best I’ve ever had), edamame (great smokey char flavor), and kimchi fried rice with steak and the most perfectly gooey poached egg. I wish we came here sooner and will certainly be eating here again during our trip.

I came here twice during my stay. Each time I had an awesome meal. I just loved the Sushi so both night I had the same. The Wagyu Steak with Caviar was my favorite. The quality and consistency is exceptional. Everybody was very friendly and provide great Service. Can gighly recommend to come here and eat dinner. Aesthetically pleasing ambiance. Wonderful greeting and welcome by Liliana and superior service from Jason, he was very attentive and seems to take pride in what he does. I had the pleasure of enjoying the Smoked edamame (which was amazing) Chinese fried rice, and a non alcoholic pineapple mojito, all were delicious! Located conveniently in the Westin hotel was a plus! Easy to find! Thank you for such a pleasant dining experience!
