A plant-filled house of coffee and local art on Bolívar

Walk into Verde Café and the plants hit you before the coffee smell does. It's set inside a traditional house at Bolívar and Oviedo, in the middle of Ibarra's historic center, and the city's tourism office actually pointed to this place as proof its downtown revitalization push was working.

The menu is straightforward cafe fare, but the draw is the room itself: local art on the walls, greenery everywhere, open across mornings and afternoons.
