Super tasty food and very friendly people. Found this place by accident but I will keep them on my radar. Best panna cotta I’ve had in a long while, and definitely best I’ve had in Finland. Very nice selection of wine, relaxed atmosphere. I can recommend!

Predominantly a wine bar~regular bar with some really rather good food choices. A perfect spot for either a pre or post travel drink and something to eat. Roomy, a wide selection, good service. It fills a very particular, very Finnish niche extremely well.

After a very long day of travel, our family found ourselves exhausted and waiting late at night for our train to Rovaniemi with our two young children — one of them already fast asleep in the stroller. We were tired, running on fumes, and just hoping to pass the time comfortably when we noticed a welcoming restaurant/bar called La Komia inside the station. We decided to stop in for a quick break and ordered two beers — and that’s when our night completely turned around. The manager, Henri, came over with warm hospitality and even brought us some nuts to enjoy. What started as a simple stop became one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Henri struck up a conversation and instantly made us feel comfortable and welcome. Instead of just being customers killing time before a train, we felt like we were sitting down with a friend. He went above and beyond — chatting with us about the city, Finland as a country, and even sharing helpful tips about Rovaniemi. He made our daughter feel extra special with thoughtful little touches and decorations that truly made her night. Traveling with young children can be exhausting, but his kindness and genuine care made all the difference. Time flew by. What could have been a long, tiring wait at the station turned into a memorable and heartwarming experience. Before we left, Henri even sent us off with bottles of water for the train — such a thoughtful gesture that perfectly summed up the exceptional service we received. If you ever find yourself at the Helsinki train station, do not miss La Komia. It’s more than just a place to grab a drink — it’s a place where you’re treated like family. We left with full hearts, helpful travel tips, and a memory we will always cherish. Highly, highly recommend.

While waiting for our train, my family stopped into this charming restaurant. The food was excellent and the owners came and talked to us. They were charming and personable.
