David Albertin's 31-seat wine and food bar, opened on Valentine's Day 2025

David Albertin opened Flor on Iso Roobertinkatu on Valentine's Day 2025, a long-held idea finally realised after years of travel through France, the Netherlands, England, Greece and India that shaped both the wine list and the food menu. The 31-seat room includes bar counter seating that looks directly into the kitchen, and the list runs on biodynamic and organic wines sourced with the same wide-ranging influences as the food.

The Valentine's Day opening date wasn't incidental. Albertin built the space explicitly around the idea of wine and food as a shared, unhurried experience rather than a quick pre-dinner stop.

Food and service are very good but the chairs are very uncomfortable. It doesn't allow you to enjoy the food and we wanted to go away after 10 minutes. It is also not good for a romantic date, they have 6 tables for two persons, only one has chairs in front of each other and one in front of the bathroom. Ah, they also ask for tip.

What a gem ! We were strolling around looking for a restaurant and ended up at Flor. The waitresses and waiter were amazing, welcoming, and so kind about the allergies. The food was very good, and goodness, they served a homemade Ice Tea which is absolutely scrumptious, the milky oolong ice tea. Best drink I’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be back !

Flor was easily one of the highlights of our time in Helsinki. The food was exceptional—beautifully presented, thoughtfully composed, and full of vibrant, seasonal flavors. The menu seems very attractive and creative. The flavors, comparing to many other Michelin guide restaurants, is mediocre. The price is Helsinki level and therefore not so attractive for medium budget. The tomato salad and the beef cheek were quite good and I recommend. The Gazpacho was not so special as it had way too much cucumber.

Had a great evening at Flor. The atmosphere is relaxed but still feels very high quality and the whole place has a really nice energy. Food was seasonal and beautifully balanced. The wine list is also excellent. they have great selection of organic wines and staff is were very knowledgeable and helped us to find a perfect wine for us. Definietly one of the most interesting wine bars in Helsinki. Thank you, we will be back again!
