La Planque

A board-game bar with 350+ games, inside the old walls
Pull a board game off a shelf of more than 350, order a drink, and settle in. La Planque sits at 19 rue des Lices, inside Avignon's old town, and it plays like a proper bar first, games café second.
The kitchen turns out homemade dishes on a menu that changes with the season, and the food holds up even if you never touch a game.

Delicious and homemade. Great atmosphere and a good games bar to enjoy between shows.

A wonderful welcome from Ludo and Vanessa, a lovely couple from beginning to end! They gave excellent advice on games, and their chocolate brownie (gluten-free, no less!) was absolutely divine. I've never had one so good! We'll definitely be back!

The best place to play in Avignon! The owners are incredibly friendly, the food is excellent, the draft beers are good, and of course, the games available are varied, well-organized, and easy to find. The only downside: it can be a bit noisy when the bar is full, so it can sometimes be hard to hear each other. But that's a minor detail, because the opening hours are generous and the atmosphere is great. Formerly a historic cat café in Avignon, I never imagined this place could become even more welcoming, even without cats! 😅 In short, go and hide away! Obviously.
